This work creates a meditative experience of liminality between spaces as I put together images from my own archive collected over the years, rearranging memories, and mediating and layering my surroundings with sounds and images from different times and places. Screened at Screen Share Video Gallery at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, Chicago from 9 Nov 2018-9 Jan 2019.
A documentary meditation on performance in our everyday lives, this experimental film uses the participatory mode to visualize desire and construction of selves. The film uses still photography in collaboration with the film's participants. The participants of the film were asked to imagine a frame in which they see themselves and then worked with them to visualize them through performative still photography. The film features an audio interview with one of its participants and follows his process of arriving at his chosen visual. Made in collaboration with Saba Rehman, Charu Banswal and Swati Singh. The film was made for academic purpose as part of an Audio Video production module at AJKMCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia.
This 3D video (rendered in 2D here) is an artistic experiment in trying to create visual frames in collaboration with artificial intelligence. I create abstract patterns on a white sheet with black lines— as a certain play with lines—and then render it in a virtual 3D environment. The video explores the possibilities of design, cinematic movement and visual frames in digital artistic productions. This production seeks to study and redefine the production of moving image in a digital environment. This video was made as part of the course Framing, Re-framing and Un-framing at the University of Chicago.
